Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
Effective date: 30 July 2026
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Janardhana Silk House and its providers use cookies, pixels, tags, browser local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies (“Cookies”) on www.janardhanasilk.com.
It supplements our Privacy Policy. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given there.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small data files stored on or read from a browser or device. Some expire when the browser closes; others remain for a defined period. Similar technologies can store settings, recognise a browser, measure interactions, reconstruct a website session, or enable content supplied by another provider.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use Cookies to:
- keep the Site, accounts, cart, checkout, and payment flow working securely;
- remember country, currency, language, cart, wishlist, comparison list, and preferences;
- detect fraud, errors, abuse, and performance problems;
- understand visits, navigation, clicks, taps, scrolling, and customer journeys;
- operate reviews, product videos, social feeds, order tracking, and other store features;
- measure communications and campaigns; and
- support advertising or personalisation where enabled, permitted, and consented to.
3. Cookie Categories
| Category | What it does | Consent treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Cart, checkout, security, load balancing, fraud prevention, account access, payment, consent records, and requested core features | Normally active because the Site cannot provide the requested service without them |
| Functional | Remembers currency, region, display, wishlist, comparison list, and optional preferences | Consent or another lawful basis is used where required |
| Analytics and performance | Measures visits, page performance, errors, heatmaps, and session-replay events | Used only according to applicable consent requirements |
| Advertising and targeting | Measures campaigns, builds audiences, limits repetition, or supports relevant advertising | Used only when enabled and according to applicable consent or opt-out requirements |
| Social and embedded content | Loads Instagram feeds, videos, sharing tools, or other third-party content | Non-essential embeds are consent-gated where required |
4. Providers and Technologies
The exact Cookies can change as providers update their services. The Site may use:
| Provider or feature | Typical purpose and data |
|---|---|
| Shopify | Store hosting, security, cart, checkout, customer accounts, payments, fraud prevention, analytics, consent choices, and Shopify consumer features |
| Janardhana Silk House theme | Cart and interface preferences; wishlist and comparison product handles stored in browser local storage |
| Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics | Tag delivery, traffic measurement, device and referral information, events, conversions, and campaign measurement |
| Microsoft Clarity | Heatmaps and reconstructed sessions using page, device, click, tap, scroll, navigation, and interaction events |
| Hotjar | Heatmaps, reconstructed sessions, feedback, surveys, device information, and interaction events |
| Contentsquare | Digital-experience analytics, interaction measurement, errors, heatmaps, and reconstructed-session events |
| Meta and Instagram | Embedded social content, feed display, sharing, measurement, or advertising where enabled |
| Razorpay and PayPal | Checkout, payment authentication, fraud prevention, risk, and transaction processing |
| Store applications | Product video, review, currency, order-tracking, scheduling, support, and other features, including applications identified in our Privacy Policy |
Provider retention periods vary by technology, configuration, account plan, and legal requirement. A provider may set both short session Cookies and longer-lived identifiers. Current details are available from:
- Shopify Cookie Policy;
- Google technologies and Cookies;
- Microsoft Clarity Data Privacy;
- Hotjar Cookie Information;
- Contentsquare Privacy Center;
- Meta Cookie Policy;
- Razorpay Privacy Policy; and
- PayPal India Privacy Statement.
5. Session Replay and Heatmaps
Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, and Contentsquare may create visual reconstructions of Site use from page structure and events such as clicks, taps, scrolling, navigation, and errors. This is not a camera recording of the visitor.
We do not use these tools to intentionally collect passwords, complete card data, or sensitive form contents. We use available masking, suppression, access, page-exclusion, and consent controls. Payment checkout may also occur within a provider-controlled environment with separate security and privacy controls.
6. Wishlist and Comparison Local Storage
The Site stores product handles selected for the wishlist and comparison list in your browser under local-storage keys used by the theme. This keeps those selections available on the same browser. The data is not necessarily linked to a customer account.
You can remove it by clearing the list within the Site, clearing Site data in the browser, or using a private browsing session.
7. Your Choices
Where a cookie banner or privacy-preferences control is available, you can:
- accept or reject non-essential categories;
- make category-specific choices;
- change consent later; and
- access any applicable data-sharing opt-out.
Rejecting non-essential Cookies does not prevent the strictly necessary Cookies required to provide the Site. Some optional functions, embedded content, recommendations, or analytics may be unavailable.
Browser controls can block or delete Cookies, but blocking all Cookies may break cart, account, checkout, currency, or security functions.
Additional provider controls may include:
- Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on;
- Hotjar Do Not Track; and
- any Contentsquare opt-out link made available through the Site.
Browser-based preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, are honoured where required by applicable law and supported by the relevant system.
8. International Processing
Cookie providers may process identifiers and usage data in countries outside India or your country of residence. See our Privacy Policy for international-transfer information.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy when technologies, providers, configurations, or legal requirements change. The revised date will appear above. Material changes will receive any additional notice or consent required by law.
