WhatsApp Communications Policy

WhatsApp Communications Policy

Effective date: 30 July 2026
Last updated: 30 July 2026

This Policy explains how Janardhana Silk House uses WhatsApp for customer service, order communication, calls, and optional marketing. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Types of WhatsApp Communication

We may use WhatsApp for:

  • Service conversations: responding when you message us;
  • Order messages: confirmation, clarification, measurement questions, payment status, dispatch, delivery, return, or support updates;
  • Appointment messages: scheduling, reminders, changes, and follow-up for video or showroom consultations;
  • Authentication messages: a code or verification where appropriately configured; and
  • Marketing messages: new collections, offers, events, back-in-stock alerts, recommendations, or broadcasts that you have chosen to receive.

We keep service and marketing permissions distinct where required.

2. Marketing Opt-In

We send promotional WhatsApp messages only when:

  • you have provided the mobile number;
  • you have taken an affirmative action agreeing to receive the described category of WhatsApp messages; and
  • the communication is otherwise permitted by applicable law and WhatsApp rules.

Entering a number for checkout, shipping, an account, a return, or customer support does not by itself opt you into promotional broadcasts.

An opt-in notice should identify Janardhana Silk House, describe the expected message category, explain how to stop, and link to this Policy or our Privacy Policy. We maintain reasonable records of the source, date, wording, and status of an opt-in.

Consent to receive marketing is optional and is not a condition of purchasing.

3. Opting Out

You can stop marketing messages at any time by:

We will record and honour the request within a reasonable period. You may still receive a response needed to confirm the opt-out and non-promotional messages necessary for an active order, request, or account.

Blocking or reporting the business in WhatsApp also stops delivery through that account. To opt in again, take a new affirmative opt-in action or ask us to resubscribe you.

4. Calls

We initiate a WhatsApp voice or video call only when you have requested it, scheduled it, or separately agreed to receive that type of call.

We do not record a call unless we tell all participants in advance and obtain any consent required by law.

5. Information Processed

When you communicate with us through WhatsApp, we and relevant providers may process:

  • telephone number and WhatsApp profile information made available to us;
  • message content, attachments, catalogue selections, and replies;
  • order, support, appointment, and consent status;
  • delivery, read, interaction, and error metadata; and
  • device or technical data processed by WhatsApp or a WhatsApp Business solution provider.

We use the information to provide the requested conversation, fulfil orders, arrange appointments, maintain consent and opt-out records, prevent abuse, and send marketing you selected.

See our Privacy Policy for retention, international processing, disclosures, and your rights. WhatsApp independently processes information under the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.

6. Service Providers and Security

We may use the WhatsApp Business App, WhatsApp Business Platform, Meta, and an authorised WhatsApp Business solution provider.

Do not send through WhatsApp:

  • complete card or bank-account numbers;
  • card security codes, UPI PINs, banking passwords, or payment OTPs;
  • government identity documents unless we have given a legitimate and secure instruction;
  • highly sensitive information unrelated to your request; or
  • another person’s confidential information without authority.

We will not ask for a complete card number, security code, banking password, or UPI PIN in a WhatsApp conversation.

7. Message Frequency and Charges

Marketing frequency varies with the categories selected and active campaigns. Standard data, roaming, or messaging charges imposed by your network or provider may apply.

Delivery is not guaranteed. WhatsApp may delay, block, or refuse a message, and you may need to use email or telephone for an urgent matter.

8. Appropriate Use

Do not use the channel for unlawful, abusive, threatening, fraudulent, infringing, or unsolicited content. We may restrict or report misuse, but will preserve any mandatory consumer or privacy request made through an appropriate channel.
